The FMS Cessna 182 is a highly detailed motorized aircraft with a 1500mm wingspan that impresses not only with its scale-like appearance but also with its incredibly accurate flight characteristics. The PNP model comes almost ready to fly out of the box, with built-in electronics.
The Cessna 182 is a small, single-engine propeller aircraft that first appeared in 1956 and was based on the Cessna 180. Due to its excellent stability, reliability, versatility, flexibility, and ease of handling, the Cessna 182 plays a significant role in general aviation. It is used in a variety of applications, including private aviation, flight training, business travel, aerial photography, air patrols, geographical surveys, and emergency medical rescue.
Officially licensed by Textron Innovations, the FMS Cessna 182, with a wingspan of 1500 mm, embodies FMS’s long-standing product philosophy: “Perfect looks, excellent performance.” Visually, the new Cessna 182 sets a new standard in realism for foam airplanes. Scale details such as the cockpit windows, cabin interior, antennas, exhaust vents, propellers, and navigation lights are faithfully reproduced. While the exterior appearance has been meticulously recreated, the flight characteristics of the Cessna 182 have also been accurately reproduced.
Thanks to high-strength, lightweight EPO materials and a high-wing structure with a large wing area, the aircraft boasts a low wing loading and a high lift-drag ratio. With flaps engaged, the FMS Cessna 182 offers precise control even at low speeds and during short takeoff and landing (STOL) maneuvers—it lifts off the ground within three meters and flies effortlessly in the air at half throttle.
The aircraft features a shock-absorbing tricycle landing gear with large, wear-resistant tires that can withstand rough landings, allowing beginners to practice takeoffs and landings with confidence. In accordance with international navigation light standards, LED lights are integrated on both wings, the rear of the fuselage, and the tip of the vertical stabilizer, enabling the most worry-free takeoffs and landings in low-light conditions and enhancing realism. Robust plastic struts provide additional strength to the wings during aerobatic maneuvers.
Furthermore, the design of the Cessna 182 reflects FMS’s consistent approach to product development – rigorous and meticulous. The model utilizes a practical snap-fit structure, an integrated servo connector design, and ball-and-socket linkages for the control surfaces. These measures not only ensure the aircraft’s strength and stability but also significantly simplify assembly at the airfield, allowing you to enjoy the fun of flying in no time. The PNP configuration includes a 3541-KV840 brushless motor, a 40A brushless ESC, and seven precise 9g digital servos for ailerons, landing flaps, nose gear steering, rudder, and elevator. All electronics are pre-installed and wired in the model, ready to fly.
What’s particularly pleasing is that the 1500mm Cessna 182 can be equipped with the Reflex V3 stabilization system (sold separately), which connects via Bluetooth and unlocks custom tuning features. After downloading the app, you can choose between standard or custom modes depending on your preference.
