The Vought F-4U Corsair was the most powerful WWII US fighter aircraft. After solving the initial problems (too rigid chassis and poor visibility from the cabin complicating landing on aircraft carriers), along with the Grummany Hellcat, he took care of the Japanese Air Force being swept from the sky over the Pacific. The Corsaires also operated successfully in the colors of the British Fleet Air Arm and the land-based airports in the Marine Corps. In service with the US Navy and Marines lasted deep into the 50s, when in the role of a fighter-bomber significantly involved in capturing the initial onslaught of communist North Korea at the beginning of the Korean War …
ARF kits of the legendary American naval fighter aircraft of the classic all-balsal construction for two-stroke 20ccm, four-stroke 25ccm, gasoline engines 20-22 cc, or electric motors of the Axi 5320-5325 series for more experienced pilots of giant models. Due to the high degree of “pre-positioning”, the model finishes quite quickly and easily – of course, given the size of the model and the complexity of on-board electronics and retractable landing gear mechanisms, this is not a beginner project.
The fuselage is a classic balsa and plywood construction with a removable fiberglass cover and a transparent cab cover. The combustion engine is mounted in the head down position on the corresponding bed on the plywood engine bulkhead, we recommend using a spring loaded bed with silentblocks. Area for rudder servos, elevator, retractable landing gear valve and gas is located in the fuselage above the wing; easy access ensures removable upper torso.
The two-piece wing with semi-directional profile is a classic design with balsa ribs and rigid coating. The wing slides from the side to two robust duralumin pipe couplings. Ailerons and flaps are controlled by pairs of servos located in the wing / p>
The tail surfaces are designed with a symmetrical profile and a rigid all-balsa fin and horizontal stabilizer coating. Elevator and rudder servos are stored in the fuselage in front of the cabin; the rudder and the spur are controlled by cable drives, the elevator pulls.
The entire model is covered with an Oracover iron-on liner, all laminate parts are sprayed with fuel-resistant paints.
Chassis is pneumatic retractable spur type with sprung main legs.
You will need at least a nine channel RC kit to control the model. Servos meet standard 3-5 kg.cm for gas, choke and chassis relief valve; strong standard with 10-12 kg.cm pull for rudders and flaps. Considering the number and strength of the servos used and the size of the model, ensure that the power supply is well resolved with sufficient battery capacity with sufficient wiring.
The kit contains: built-in and iron-on foil-coated fuselage, wing and tail surfaces, sprayed laminated engine cover, pneumatic retractable landing gear, wheels, fuel tank, accessory kit, cabin scale interior and picture instructions.
