The F-18 from FMS is a true-to-scale RC jet made of EPO foam. The model comes almost ready to fly out of the box – including numerous scale details, a robust landing gear, an efficient 12-blade impeller, and functional lighting.
The F/A-18 Hornet is a third-generation supersonic fighter jet originally developed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) for the US Navy. With its single-seat or two-seat configuration, swept wings, and twin turbofan engines, the F/A-18 is a true masterpiece of aviation engineering. It is exceptionally versatile and can be used as both a fighter and an attack aircraft. As the primary combat aircraft of the US Navy, the F/A-18 Hornet plays a central role in air defense and ground attack missions. First flown in 1974, it has been in service since 1983 and, following the retirement of the F-14 in 2006, is the only carrier-based fighter jet operating on US aircraft carriers.
The model – absolutely scale. With numerous realistic details, such as a scale cockpit, panel lines, antennas, fuel tanks, and missiles, the model impresses with its incredible attention to detail. The integrated navigation lights at the wingtips and tail create an impressive atmosphere during flight. Thanks to the use of CNC-milled plastic landing gear components and the robust steel wire construction of the rear landing gear, not only the model’s visual authenticity but also its functionality and durability are guaranteed.
Powerful and maneuverable, the FMS F-18 is equipped with an efficient 64mm 12-blade impeller, a powerful 2840-KV3150 brushless inrunner motor, and a 40A ESC. These components guarantee excellent flight performance at both high and low speeds. Five high-precision 9g digital servos control the model, enabling precise maneuvers that mirror the fighter jet capabilities of the original. The main wing and horizontal stabilizer are reinforced with tubes to ensure maximum stability, even during aggressive flight maneuvers.
